The Criminology, B.A. program examines the making of laws, the nature and extent of crime and criminality, and efforts to control crime. The program provides students with a strong foundation in sociological theory and research to understand crime and justice in society, as well as think critically and creatively about what does and doesn't work in current crime control efforts.

Courses focus on the social construction or definitions of crime, the causes of crime and delinquency, and on the origin, nature, and consequences of societal reactions to criminal offending, including practices in both public and private justice agencies.

The Certificate in Homeland Security Studies is a 9 credit-hour program for any academic major and non-degree seeking student. The coursework covers a wide range of homeland security issues, from national security and homeland defense, to the many features of natural and manmade disaster response, to domestic criminal and counterterrorism challenges.​

The Liberal Studies, B.S. provides a strong liberal arts education for future elementary education teachers.
