The Department of Art offers experience-based instruction in the practices of studio art, creative media, art history, and art education. A full-time faculty of working artists and scholars along with accomplished visiting professionals are dedicated to the development of emerging creatives who enrich our society with thoughtful insight, valuable skill sets, and an understanding of the responsibilities that come with visual literacy.

BFA: Creative Media

An intensive professional degree pathway that exposes students to a breadth and depth of study in the areas of creative media: Photography, Film, Graphic Design, Digital Art, and Intermedia Arts.

BFA: Studio Art

An intensive professional degree pathway that exposes students to a breadth and depth of study in the areas of studio art: painting, drawing, ceramics, sculpture, and printmaking.                                                         

Bachelor of Arts

BA: Art & Creative Media

The Art & Creative Media concentration integrates arts research with broad-based studio art training into a substantial liberal arts education. It is appropriate for students who seek a well-rounded liberal arts degree that is enriched by studio education in the visual arts.

BA: Art History

The Art History concentration challenges students to examine art and architecture throughout the world and to become familiar with diverse cultures, religions, and perspectives. Art history courses investigate political, economic, and cultural factors in artistic production and reception.

BA: Art Education (K-12 Certification)

The Art Education concentration is designed for students to who seek to become Art Educators within K-12 schools. The programs includes a general studio education in the visual arts, a substantial study in the liberal arts and an extended minor program in K-12 education.

The Art & Creative Media minor is a useful complement to a major in Business, Engineering, History, Media Communication, Music as well as STEM majors.

The Museum Studies minor is designed to complement a variety of major areas of study including Art, Art History, Education, History, Media Communication, and Anthropology.
