Art History Minor

The art history minor provides students with the tools to examine the social, political, religious, and practical functions that images, objects, and buildings have served in the past and present. In addition to art history courses, students take writing, media communication, and museum studies courses.

The art history minor is a useful complement to a major in Art, Business, Engineering, History, or Media Communication. 

Requirements

Museum Studies Minor

The minor in museum studies exposes students to the history, theory, and practice of museums and other cultural institutions while providing practical experiences designed to complement a variety of major areas of study.

A Museum Studies minor would be beneficial to students in numerous fields of study including art, art history, education, history, media communication, and anthropology.

Art & Creative Media Minor

The minor in Art & Creative Media is designed to expose students to a range of ideas and experiences in the creative arts and visual communication.

With hands-on studio opportunities and art theory courses this minor would enrich the education of students in numerous fields of study including; art history, psychology, history, media communication, education creative writing, music, and anthropology.

The Art & Creative Media minor is a useful complement to a major in Business, Engineering, History, Media Communication, Music as well as most STEM-related majors.

Students wishing to enroll in any Minor program can declare and select the required courses through their PAWS account.

Spring 2022 Registration is Open

To register for Spring 2022 courses, students will need to meet with their academic success coach or faculty mentor, submit proof of vaccination or exemption, and self-register through Banner.
