Center for Honors and Leadership

Welcome to the Center for Honors and Leadership (CHL)! The CHL oversees the autonomous work of both the Honors and Leadership programs but also coordinates guest speakers, activities, projects, and other programming to ensure the maximum impact for both. We offer unique programs which provide students with strengths and opportunities to focus academically on self-leadership, ethnics, service learning, and community engagement. The CHL prepares graduates to engage in life-long academic and professional planning.

In addition, we offer services to the University community in support of honors societies and other leadership and scholarship activities promoted to all students. We are excited to help students build their team of campus and community contacts to connect to their dreams after graduation!

The CHL emphasizes the value of academic, social & community engagement through events in the following categories:

  • Guest lectures and performances
  • School competitions and athletic events
  • Community engagement and volunteer work
  • Social gatherings and holiday parties

Class of 2020

"The opportunities that I have received through the Honors program have added a new dimension to my education. I have added hands-on honors projects to several classes that have allowed me to understand the content in new ways. My current project involving digital design and 3D printing will add a new dimension to my future classroom. The Honors Program has connected me with several experiential learning opportunities. I believe that my participation in this program has changed the trajectory of my future career. I am so thankful for this amazing program!"
