Program Admissions

placeholder

The President's Leadership program admissions process is guided by our desire to develop well-rounded, extraordinary leaders. All program participants must meet the minimum program admission requirements and must submit all components of the written application requirements.

Completed applications are then reviewed and screened according to a grading rubric that is based on the selection criteria. Scores and comments are then used to select students for the interview round.

Candidates who live within driving distance participate in a panel interview on the CSU Pueblo campus. The panel consists of three to five business and/or community leaders, as well as PLP faculty, staff, students, and alumni. Out-of-state and international students are offered an online or telephone interview.

To meet the preferred deadline, application materials must be postmarked and/or received by the President’s Leadership Program Office or the CSU Pueblo Office of Admissions by March 1st. The second deadline is May 1st.

Admission Requirements

To be admitted into the President's Leadership program:

  • Students must remain in good academic standing within the program, maintaining a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0.
  • Program participants are expected to be involved in extra-curricular activities on campus and in the community and must adhere to the PLP Standards and Expectations, as outlined in the CHL Handbook distributed at the beginning of each fall semester
  • All students are expected to volunteer 30 hours of community service each semester.

Potential scholars must be admitted to CSU Pueblo as first-time, full-time students. Applications to the PLP must demonstrate academic excellence, leadership potential, and commitment outside of self.
