On Thursday, March 21, at 7:00 p.m., The CSU Pueblo Flute Choir will be performing a program titled Winds of Spring. The performance will be held in Hoag Hall on the CSU Pueblo campus. There is no fee for admission. Donations to our CSU Pueblo music education scholarship fund, Pure Imagination are always welcome. Under the direction of CSU Pueblo Flute Instructor, Andrea Artley, The CSU Pueblo Community Flute Choir is made up of CSU Pueblo students and local members of our Pueblo community. March 21, 1685, is the birthday of J.S. Bach. Our program will celebrate this day with a performance of Bach's Suite No. 2 in b minor in a special arrangement for flute ensemble. We will be performing other works by Mozart, Brahms, Grieg and a special performance with faculty members Dr. Dan Nebel, French horn and Andrea Artley, flute in a duo by Jan Bach that is sure to delight!

Dr. Priscilla Falcon, professor emeritus of the University of Northern Colorado, has published a book, "Strike: National Florist workers vs Kitayama," published by Vanishing Horizons, the story of Guadalupe “Lupe" Briseno, who in 1968-69, with other women led a strike against the Brighton-based carnation greenhouse for better wages and working conditions. Dr. Falcon has interviewed Guadalupe about this strike who was supported by the University of Colorado and Iliff School of Theology students and multiple religious and human rights organizations
