    WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENCES IN ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS BETWEEN GENERALIST STANDING AND ADVANCED STANDING APPLICANTS?

    Our program offers two entry options. Generalist Standing is available to applicants with any undergraduate degree who have completed at least 18 credit hours in the liberal arts, and it provides admission into the first year of the MSW program. Advanced Standing allows students who have earned a CSWE-accredited Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) degree to enter directly into the second year of the MSW program.

    IF I AM WORKING IN A SOCIAL WORK-RELATED FIELD CAN MY WORK HOURS COUNT TOWARD THE MSW PRACTICUM REQUIREMENTS?

    If your current work is in a social work–related setting, some or all of your work hours may be eligible to count toward the MSW practicum, subject to program approval.

    IF I COMPLETE ALL OF MY COURSES ONLINE, IS IT POSSIBLE TO COMPLETE THE MSW PRACTICUM ONLINE AS WELL?

    Students complete their practicum in person, with regular virtual check-ins conducted by Practicum Liaisons and the Practicum Coordinator to monitor student progress and support agency needs. These check-ins are fully online, though optional face-to-face meetings are available for agencies located near campus. Practicum Seminar coursework is completed online, with optional in-person check-ins for students who live nearby.

    IS THE ONLINE MSW PROGRAM CSWE-ACCREDITED?

    Yes, the online MSW program at CSU Pueblo is fully CSWE-accredited and prepares graduates to pursue social work licensure, such as LSW and LICSW, upon completion of the program and fulfillment of state licensure requirements.

    AM I QUALIFIED FOR SCHOLARSHIPS?

    You may be qualified for one or more scholarships offered by CSU Pueblo. You must have an updated FAFSA on file with Student Financial Services. Visit the Scholarships page for more information.

    HOW DO I GET STARTED?

    First, you'll need to complete our online application. Once all required documents are received, an admissions processor will begin reviewing your application.
