Health Science and Administration
Overview
This online applied bachelor's degree is open to aspiring students who currently hold an AAS, AGS or AS degree in a healthcare, allied health, or public health fields. The program bridges allied healthcare professionals who hold a two-year degree and current healthcare licensure or certification to a four year BAS degree.
Students will learn complementary, communication, technical and administrative skills necessary to enhance their preparation for working in these industries.

Program Details
The BAS in Health Science & Administration requires a minimum of 30 credits, including a mix of General Education courses and Electives. Total credits needed for program completion are evaluated on an individual basis and determined by the number of transfer credits and escrow credits student is eligible for.

9 upper division credits at the minimum. (Students may need more credits depending on transfer and escrow credits. Students may take up to 38 credits with 19 upper-division credits in this section depending on their transfer and escrow credits).
Upon completion of your Health Science & Administration degree, you will be able to:
- Summarize and synthesize information relevant to assessing and improving population health and healthcare issues
- Exhibit the abilty to read and interpret scientific research with application of the scientific methods, statistics, study design, and reporting in the health sciences
- Evaluate and integrate critical concepts and skills acquired in the health sciences curriculum to common professional problems in the health science fields of interest
- Exhibit effective oral and written communication as well as mass communication regarding subjects related to the health sciences in an individual and group setting
- Apply and demonstrate knowledge, skills and critical problems solving in a field-based and/or clinical setting

Applications for the health science & administration degree are accepted year-round. The admission requirements are the following:
Prospective Freshman: As a prospective freshman, you are evaluated on the content and rigor of your high school
coursework, grades or high school rank, and standardized test scores. You must successfully graduate from high
school and have a minimum cumulative GPA of at least 2.0. You must complete and submit the undergraduate appli-
cation and send official transcripts to the Office of Admissions.
Transfer Students: Transfer applicants are degree-seeking students who, at the time of application, have completed
a minimum of 24 credits of college-level coursework. Remedial courses and concurrent enrollment courses (courses
taken while in high school) do not count toward the total credit count.
Admission Standards: CSU Pueblo is a moderately selective institution, and we are committed to providing access
to a 4-year college degree to any student is who academically prepared. We look at several factors to determine your
preparation, including your cumulative college GPA and the courses you have taken at your previous institutions. In
general, students with at least a 2.3 cumulative transfer GPA who have successfully completed all basic skill course-
work will be admitted to CSU Pueblo. Students who have not yet completed their basic skills courses or who have a
GPA below a 2.3 are still encouraged to apply, and may be admitted on a probationary status.
How to Apply
- Applications for the Health Science and Administration, Bachelor of Applied Science Online Program are accepted year-round. The admissions requirements are the following:
- Associate Degree: Students must have an AGS, AAS, AS, AA in an allied healthcare field or focus from an accredited institution.
License: Students must hold a current allied healthcare license or certification at the state (DORA in Colorado) or national level.
Applicants must complete the online application. The application requires official transcripts from all colleges which
the student has attended. Once the application and transcripts have been received, students will receive an admission
