Exploring the Science of Cannabis
CSU Pueblo offers a unique Cannabis Biology and Chemistry program with undergraduate, graduate, and certificate options. Students gain hands-on experience in areas like hemp agriculture, analytical chemistry, and natural products. Supported by the Institute of Cannabis Research, the program prepares graduates for careers in science, research, and the growing cannabis industry.
Students also benefit from access to state-of-the-art laboratories and faculty with expertise in cannabis science. The program is designed to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving field, combining academic rigor with real-world applications.
Program Offerings

Cannabis Biology & Chemistry, BS
This program provides students with an understanding of chemical and biological principles that are applied to the cannabis science industry. We offer two concentration areas: Analytical and Natural Products.

Biochemistry, MS
This graduate program prepares students for success and advancement in career and to develop their knowledge and skills in the discipline of Biochemistry studies to professional levels.

Cannabis Biology & Chemistry, MS
3+2: Biochemistry, Chemistry, or Cannabis Biology/Chemistry Joint Bachelor of Science/Master of Science
Earn both a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Biochemistry, Chemistry and Cannabis Biology/Chemistry in as little as five years.

Chemistry, Minor

Cannabis Biology & Chemistry, Post-Bachelor Certificate
This Post-Bachelor Certificate is designed for students with an undergraduate degree in biology or chemistry looking gain advanced coursework relevant to cannabis sciences.
