3+2 Programs
Admission Requirements
The Biochemistry, Chemistry, and Cannabis Biology/Chemistry 3+2 Programs offer students the unique opportunity to graduate with both a Baccalaureate and Master's degree in five years.
Students interested in the Biochemistry, Chemistry, and Cannabis Biology/Chemistry 3+2 Program must declare their major as Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry or Chemistry.
In the third year of the program, students must apply to the Biochemistry 3+2 Program, Chemistry 3+2 Program or Cannabis Biology/Chemistry. Upon acceptance, students begin graduate coursework the following summer
The application for admissions to the 3+2 plan must include:
- A CSU Pueblo transcript
- Two letters of recommendation from CSU Pueblo faculty
- A statement of research interests
- Complete a graduate admissions application (DO NOT COMPLETE THE ONLINE APPLICATION)
- Pay the $35 admission application fee (at the cashier cage located in the ADM Building)
Students must meet the following qualifications:

- Must have declared Biochemistry or Chemistry as your major.
- Must have achieved an overall grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Must have achieved a grade point average of 3.25 in required Biochemistry or Chemistry coursework.
- Must have completed 75 credits including twelve upper-level credits in Biochemistry or Chemistry.
- Satisfactory combined GRE scores above 300 (students may be admitted into the 3+2 program before taking the GRE; however, they must submit satisfactory GRE scores by the last day of finals at the end of their first semester in the 3+2 Biochemistry or Chemistry MS program to remain in the program).
- Prior to enrolling in the first 500-level course, students are expected to have completed a significant portion of the requirements for their undergraduate major.

Note: Students are strongly encouraged to complete an internship prior to enrolling in graduate-level courses.
