Your mental health and well-being are an important part of your success at CSU Pueblo. The Counseling Center provides resources and support to help students manage stress, build coping skills, connect with campus services, and find care that meets their needs.

Start here
Students come to the Counseling Center for many different reasons. You do not need to have everything figured out before reaching out. If you are unsure what kind of support you need, the Counseling Center can help you decide on next steps.
- You are feeling overwhelmed, anxious, sad, or disconnected.
- You are dealing with grief, stress, relationships, identity, adjustment, or personal challenges.
- You want to talk through a concern with a trained professional.
- You need help finding campus or community support.
- You are worried about a friend or classmate and are not sure what to do.
Counseling Center support
Individual Counseling
Students can meet with a counselor for support with stress, anxiety, depression, relationships, grief, adjustment, identity, and other personal concerns.
Emergency Appointments
Emergency appointments may be accommodated when available. Students should contact the Counseling Center directly for help identifying next steps.
Wellness Support
The Counseling Center may offer wellness-based support such as Acuwellness, acupressure seeds, quiet room access, and psychoeducation.
Referrals and Community Care
Students whose needs fall outside the Counseling Center’s scope of care can receive help identifying referral options and community-based support.

PACK Center
For academic advising, class planning, registration questions, and academic success support, students should contact the PACK Center.
Disability Resource and Support Center
The Disability Resource and Support Center supports students with accommodations and accessibility-related needs.
Student Health Services
Student Health Services can support students with medical needs and connect students to appropriate health-related resources.
Student Affairs
Student Affairs connects students with support related to student life, campus engagement, advocacy, and overall student success.
Self-guided support
Self-guided support can help students reflect on their well-being and practice coping skills. These tips are not a replacement for counseling, but they may be helpful starting points.
Managing Stress
- Break large tasks into smaller steps.
- Build short breaks into your day.
- Practice slow breathing or grounding exercises.
- Reach out before stress becomes unmanageable.
Supporting a Friend
- Listen without judgment.
- Let them know you are concerned and care about them.
- Encourage them to connect with the Counseling Center or another support resource.
- Call emergency services if there is an immediate safety concern.
Preparing for Counseling
- Think about what you want support with.
- Write down questions you want to ask.
- Be open about what has or has not helped before.
- Ask your counselor about confidentiality, services, and next steps.
When to Ask for Help
- Your stress is affecting your sleep, classes, work, or relationships.
- You feel stuck, isolated, or overwhelmed.
- You are having trouble coping with a major life change.
- You are worried about your safety or someone else’s safety.
Crisis and after-hours support
If you are experiencing a mental health emergency or need urgent support after hours, call the Counseling Center number listed in the Contact Us box on this page. After hours, the line is forwarded to ProtoCall, a call service staffed by licensed counselors.

For faculty, staff, friends, and family
If you are concerned about a student, you do not have to manage the situation alone. Encourage the student to contact the Counseling Center, connect them with appropriate campus resources, or seek emergency help if there is an immediate safety concern.
How to Help
Listen with care, express concern, and help the student connect with support. Avoid promising secrecy if there may be a safety concern.
