Faculty & Staff Resources

The Counseling Center team is dedicated to meeting the needs of CSU Pueblo students. In addition to individual counseling sessions, the team may be available to collaborate with faculty and staff outside of the Counseling Center.

Examples of potential collaborations are listed below. The Counseling Center is also open to working with faculty and staff to create unique opportunities that support student mental health and well-being.

Faculty and staff are important partners in helping students connect with support. If you are concerned about a student, you may contact the Counseling Center for consultation or refer the student to available campus resources.

Potential collaborations

Classroom Presentations

The Counseling Center can provide class presentations on a variety of mental health topics aimed at reducing stigma and promoting mental health treatment.

Presentations may focus on effective interpersonal communication, stress management, adjusting to life changes, suicide awareness, suicide prevention, and other student wellness topics.

Tabling

The Counseling Center team may be available to participate in fairs, conferences, and tabling events.

Tabling can be used to distribute mental health and wellness resources or can be tailored to meet a specific campus or event need.

Consultation

Faculty and staff may contact the Counseling Center when they are unsure how to support a student who appears distressed or in need of additional help.

The Counseling Center can provide general guidance and help identify appropriate next steps.

Campus Wellness Support

The Counseling Center may collaborate with campus partners on wellness-focused programming, outreach efforts, and mental health awareness initiatives.

Opportunities may vary based on staff availability, scheduling, and the nature of the request.

Requesting support

Faculty and staff interested in a classroom presentation, tabling opportunity, consultation, or other collaboration should contact the Counseling Center using the contact information listed on this page.

If there is an immediate threat to safety, call or text 911. For a non-emergency concern about a student, connect the student with the Counseling Center or submit a Pack CARES report when appropriate.

When to connect a student with support

Faculty and staff may consider connecting a student with support when they notice changes in behavior, academic participation, communication, or overall well-being.

  • A student appears overwhelmed, withdrawn, distressed, or unusually anxious.
  • A student shares concerns about depression, grief, stress, relationships, or personal challenges.
  • A student’s behavior changes suddenly or becomes disruptive.
  • A student expresses concern about their own safety or someone else’s safety.
  • A student asks for help but is unsure where to start.
