Red Folder initiative
This initiative involves our campus developing a "Red Folder," which serves as a comprehensive reference guide for mental health resources available on campus and in the community. It is designed for faculty, staff, and graduate teaching/research assistants who may encounter students, faculty, or staff in distress.
The Red Folder outlines common signs indicating distress and provides guidance on campus protocols for contacting the appropriate personnel in case of an emergency. It also includes tips on how to effectively approach distressed individuals and connect them with necessary resources.
Red Folders are placed in each classroom. Additional copies will be made available in departmental offices if we have extras. A PDF version of the guide will be uploaded to the Dean of Students (DOS) Pack Cares, and Counseling webpages. Training sessions will be conducted each semester. See announcement for further details in the Digest.
