The Wind Ensemble is one of the University's premier performing ensembles and is open to all students, regardless of academic major. Prerequisite: High School Band experience or Director approval. Rehearsals begin the first week of school in the Fall and Spring semesters.

The ensemble seeks to broaden performance and pedagogical skills through the programming of quality wind band literature that ranges from cornerstones of the repertoire through contemporary works.

The Wind Ensemble also serves as a vehicle that equips music performance and education degree students with rehearsal and performance techniques that will foster growth and maturity in their performing ensembles after graduating and entering the field of music performance and music education.
