Mission Statement
Established in 1999, the Thomas V. Healy Center for Business and Economic Research at the Hasan School of Business was founded through an initial donation from Thomas V. Healy, later supplemented by a gift from the David and Lucile Packard Foundation. The Center is dedicated to engaging students, faculty, and the community in applied research initiatives that promote sustainable economic development in southeastern Colorado. It also expands its impact through Adelante Connect, an initiative focused on digital access and empowerment.
As part of CSU Pueblo's commitment to fostering economic growth and innovation, the Healy Center hosts Adelante Connect, a program designed to bridge the digital divide in Pueblo. The initiative’s vision aligns with the Healy Center’s mission to empower Pueblo residents and Community Anchor Sites by providing access to technology and broadband connectivity. This work offers a platform for residents to participate in and actively strengthen the local economy.
Through Adelante Connect, the Healy Center raises awareness about broadband accessibility, emphasizes its essential role in economic and social mobility, and implements effective solutions for students, families, and organizations within the Pueblo community. By integrating research, community engagement, and technology-driven strategies, the Healy Center and Adelante Connect empower residents to leverage digital opportunities—advancing both economic and social prosperity.
