Student Clubs

Students can become involved in four different organizations through the Department of History, Political Science, Philosophy, and Geography. Students interested in joining the student clubs below should contact the department.
Phi Alpha Theta Honor Society
Phi Alpha Theta is a professional society whose mission is to promote the study of history by encouraging research, good teaching, publication, and the exchange of ideas among historians. We seek to bring students, teachers, and writers of history together for intellectual and social conversations. We also support historical research and publication by our members.
- Students are not required to be a declared History major or minor to participate.
- Must have completed 12 semester hours of History classes, 6 of them at CSU Pueblo.
- Must have achieved an overall grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Must have achieved a grade point average of 3.10 in required History courses.
- Pay a one-time fee of $50 for a lifetime membership.
Phi Alpha Theta History Club
Political Science Club
The Political Science Club is a student-run organization that promotes the study of politics and government on campus and in the community, and also provides numerous social and academic opportunities for interested students.
Membership is open to any and all interested students, and you do not have to be a Political Science major. Prospective members should expect to perform their civic duty and attend regularly scheduled meetings. However, exceptions are permitted, as the Political Science club ultimately aims to accommodate its members alongside their goals and aspirations.

Pi Sigma Alpha Honor Society
Pi Sigma Alpha is a professional society whose mission is to stimulate scholarship and interest in politics, government, and democracy, and to support curricular and extracurricular activities that promote dialogue and civic engagement.
- Students are not required to be a declared Political Science major or minor to participate.
- Must have achieved Junior status with at least 60 credit hours completed.
- Must have completed 12-semester credit in Political Science with a least two upper courses (i.e., 300 & 400 level).
- Must have achieved an overall grade point average of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale.
- Must have achieved a grade point average of 3.5 in required Political Science courses.
- Pay a one-time fee of $35 for a lifetime membership (Honor cords and medallions for graduation are an extra cost, at $17 each).

- Your resume
- Unofficial transcript with the following information highlighted:
- CSU-Pueblo political science coursework
- Total number of hours completed toward undergraduate degrees
- Overall GPA
- Political Science GPA
