POLS 498 is an upper-level internship course developed for political science undergraduate majors and minors. Opportunities include:

Legislative internship: The application period for this internship runs from early September to early October. Students who are selected for the program are placed with an elected representative or senator in the State Assembly to intern through the legislative session, which coincides with the Spring semester at CSU Pueblo.

Local public affairs internships. In this program, students can intern with a local agency, like the Pueblo Public Defender’s Office or the Pueblo County Clerk, or with a local or regional non-profit.

Other internships. Students can also intern with state and federal agencies and non-profits.

The POLS 498 Student Manual has information about expectations and assignments for all internships; it also has evaluation forms to be completed at midterm and the end of the semester.
