Student Leadership & Involvement Awards

The Student Leadership & Involvement Awards serve as a great way to recognize outstanding leaders and organizations on the CSU Pueblo campus. Each year, nominations are taken from around campus and a committee of involved students and staff deliberate and decide the winners.

The categories for nominations are:
  •  

    Campus Collaborator

    Candidates for this award bring together organizations and/or groups of students through their strong sense of collaboration and relationship building.

  •  

    Champion for Diversity Award

    Champion for Diversity Award: Candidates for this award are student leaders who exemplify their commitment to service, social justice, and diversity through promoting respect for diversity and individual differences in their activities, projects, discussions, or their leadership with student organizations.

  •  

    Emerging Leader of the Year

    Candidates for this award are first-year students, defined as those in their first or second semester at CSU-Pueblo, who demonstrate leadership skills by actively engaging in the university community and seeking out opportunities to get involved.

  •  

    MVT- Most Valuable Thunderwolf

    Candidates for this award are intercollegiate, intramural, and/or club sport student athletes who through their involvement at CSU Pueblo have made significant contributions to the quality of life for their fellow students.

  •  

    Service Award

    Candidates for this award are students whose behavior embraces civic responsibility and service to the community on a campus, local, regional, national, or global level. This individual has given their time, talent, and efforts to contribute to the common good.

  •  

    The Homer and Diane Blackwell President's Leadership Award

    Candidates for the The Homer and Diane Blackwell President's Leadership Award have excelled as student leaders with a distinguished record of extraordinary leadership, service, spirit, advocacy, and involvement within the University community. Recipients will have a history of positive and significant accomplishments resulting in major contributions that enhance the quality of life at the University. Other criteria for this award include being a current CSU Pueblo student enrolled in six or more credit hours, junior class rank or higher, and a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 or above. This graduate will receive his/her diploma at the commencement ceremony, directly following the recipient of the Threlkeld Prize for Excellence, another prestigious University award.

    Thunderwolf Spirit Award

    Candidates for this award are student leaders who bring spirit and enthusiasm to the CSU Pueblo community through their involvement on campus.

  •  

    Diversity at Work Award

    The recipient of this award will be a student organization that sponsored an event with the goal of providing diversity and social justice education through a campus event. The effectiveness of the planning, publicity, and execution of the event will be considered (must be planned and executed by a student organization, not a campus office or department; collaborations with offices or departments are acceptable). When judging, we will take the organization's standing into consideration.

    Educational Event of the Year

    The recipient of this award will be a student organization that sponsored an event that provided an educational opportunity for students. The effectiveness of the planning, publicity, and execution of the event will be considered (must be planned and executed by a student organization, not a campus office or department; collaborations with offices or departments are acceptable). When judging, we will take the organization's standing into consideration.

    Emerging Student Organization of the Year

    A beginning student organization that is organized, active, and increasing in membership. When judging, we will take the organization's standing into consideration.

  •  

    Event of the Year

    The recipient of this award will be a student organization that sponsored an event that promoted social interaction among students. The effectiveness of the planning, publicity, and execution of the event will be considered (must be planned and executed by a student organization, not a campus office or department; collaborations with offices or departments are acceptable). When judging, we will take the organization's standing into consideration.

  •  

    Fraternity / Sorority of the Year

    Organization must be a recognized Greek letter organization by Student Engagement & Leadership and Fraternity & Sorority Life. Greek Organization has made a positive impact on the Greek community. When judging, we will take the organization's standing into consideration.

  •  

    Membership Achievement Award

    A student organization that has significantly increased their membership. When judging, we will take the organization's standing into consideration.

  •  

    Outstanding Student Organization Advisor

    The candidate for this award is a faculty or staff member that goes above and beyond their expectations of an advisor, is an integral part of the organization, and shows dedication to the mission of the organization. When judging, we will take the organization's standing into consideration.

  •  

    Student Organization of the Year

    A strong student organization that is organized, active, and maintains strong membership. This organization continually strives to increase their impact and influence on the campus community. When judging, we will take the organization's standing into consideration.

  •  

    Fraternity / Sorority Leader of the Year

    Student must be an active member of an active fraternity or sorority currently recognized by The Office of Student Engagement & Leadership and Fraternity & Sorority Life as of January 1. This individual has made a positive impact on their chapter as well as Fraternity & Sorority Life. When judging, we will take the organization's standing into consideration.
  •  

    Student Employee of the Year

    Nominee must be a student employee of CSU Pueblo and embody characteristics of exceptional work ethic in their office. This student not only applies their self in the classroom but also in their work on campus.
  •  

    Wolfpack Spirit Award

    A student organization that brings spirit and enthusiasm to the CSU Pueblo community through their programs and activities. When judging, we will take the organization's standing into consideration.
