Sigma

Sigma is one of the most respected and influential honor societies in the nursing profession, with more than 130,000 members in 85 countries. The mission of Sigma is advancing world health and celebrating nursing excellence in scholarship, leadership, and service.

Iota Pi is the CSU Pueblo Chapter of Sigma. Membership is by invitation only and recognizes exceptional academic and professional achievement across three distinct categories.

Membership Categories

  • Undergraduate Student — Junior or senior students in baccalaureate programs who have completed at least half of the nursing curriculum, rank in the top 35% of their class, and demonstrate academic excellence.
  • Graduate Student — Master’s and doctoral students who have completed at least one-fourth of the graduate nursing curriculum and achieved academic excellence.
  • Nurse Leader — Legally recognized practicing nurses with a baccalaureate degree (in nursing or another field) who demonstrate outstanding achievement in nursing.
