Leadership Focused on Students

Correa Martinez has described leadership development as an opportunity not simply for personal advancement, but for creating stronger institutions, supporting colleagues and expanding opportunities for students and the communities universities serve.

Her participation in the program comes as CSU Pueblo and the Hasan School of Business continue work focused on student success, strategic planning, community engagement and the evolving needs of regional public higher education.

National Leadership Development

AASCU represents regional public colleges and universities across the United States. Its Emerging Leaders Program selects participants through a competitive process that includes institutional nomination or endorsement.

Cohort members work with higher education leaders and peers from institutions across the country while completing programming focused on the challenges and opportunities facing today's colleges and universities.

Bringing the Experience Back to CSU Pueblo

Through the program, Correa Martinez will continue developing leadership strategies she can apply at CSU Pueblo and the Hasan School of Business. The experience also provides opportunities to build a national network of colleagues working through many of the same challenges facing regional universities.

Her selection adds to CSU Pueblo's participation in the national program. AASCU's previous Emerging Leaders Program cohorts have also included CSU Pueblo faculty and academic leaders.
