The SoCo Reading Series, now in its 15th year, aims to celebrate talented poets and writers from the region while also bringing notable authors from across the country to CSUP. Funded by CSUP's English department and other campus partners, the series has previously hosted literary luminaries such as Stephen Graham Jones, Diane Seuss, Kim Addonizio, and Rigoberto González.
Darci Schummer, Assistant Professor of Creative Writing and Creative Writing Director at CSUP, emphasizes the series' importance: "The Southern Colorado Reading series provides an opportunity for students to engage with the literary community in a meaningful way. For many of our students, the first experience they have at a reading is through SoCo. Further, because these events are open to the public, they also contribute to the region's literary ecosystem."
Dr. Audrey Taylor, Assistant Professor of English, adds, "The SoCo Reading series is an amazing opportunity for CSU Pueblo students, and Colorado in general, to get to listen to talented writers in their own backyard."
Don't miss this opportunity to experience the power of literature and engage with these accomplished authors. Mark your calendars for the SoCo Reading Series events this fall.
