In 2021, Colorado State University Pueblo Foundation established the Leading the Legacy giving society. CSU Pueblo’s Leading the Legacy fund was founded by philanthropic women who aspire for inclusion and diversity to make a positive impact in Pueblo County through higher education. As women are celebrated during March for Women’s History Month, the women who came together to establish this fund are appreciated.

While women established Leading the Legacy, everyone is welcome to become a member or donate to the fund. Gifts to this fund will support CSU Pueblo students through scholarships, mentorship, volunteerism, and emergency funding. The goal is to raise $200,000 to establish an endowment from which scholarships will be awarded in perpetuity. Additional contributions to the fund will support emergency needs of CSU Pueblo students. To date, just over $100,000 has been pledged to the fund.

Individuals can contribute any amount to the Leading the Legacy fund. Participation in the Leading the Legacy Society range from gifts starting at the Member Level of $500 to Founder Level of $10,000. Pledges to Leading the Legacy can be paid over a period of five years and members can continue giving to move from one level to the next.

“Through the collaboration of Leading the Legacy founders and members—CSU Pueblo, CSU Pueblo Foundation, and community partners—our aim is to bring our community together to recognize, collectively, that everyone has the capability of making an exponential impact on CSU Pueblo and its students,” said Barbara Vidmar, CSU Pueblo Foundation Trustee and Leading the Legacy Founder.
