Homecoming Week 2021 Invites Alumni to Leave a Legacy

PUEBLO—Colorado State University Pueblo celebrates Homecoming 2021 with the theme, “Leave a Legacy” as they are invited to participate in events Wednesday, Oct. 20 through Sunday, Oct. 24. For many alumni of CSU Pueblo, this will be their first visit back to campus since the COVID-19 pandemic began in 2020.

“We are extremely excited about the number of activities that we are able to host to welcome our alumni back to campus,” said Director of Alumni and Community Relations, Tracy Samora. “It was challenging last year to not be able to see everyone in person. We are looking forward to a great celebration of our past, present, and future.”

Events for the week include:

Wednesday, Oct. 20

CSU Pueblo begins the Homecoming celebration week with the annual Donuts and Coffee Break with Students and Alumni in the Library and Academic Resource Center (LARC) from 8:30 a.m. until 10 a.m.

The Athletics Friends and Scholars Luncheon is in the Occhiato Student Center (OSC) from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.

Thursday, Oct. 21

The STEM Student Research Symposium takes place from 1:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. at the OSC fireplace.

Communities to Build Active STEM Engagement (CBASE) Family and Friends event at the OSC fireplace is from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

The Media Communication alumni event is hosted in the Buell Communications Center from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Friday, Oct. 22

The annual Baseball alumni tournament is hosted at Walking Stick Golf Course beginning at 9 a.m.

CSU Pueblo Women’s Soccer hosts Adams State at the Art and Lorraine Gonzales Soccer/Lacrosse Stadium at 4 p.m.

The President’s Leadership Program and Center for Honors and Leadership alumni reception takes place at the OSC fireplace 5:00 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The CSU Pueblo Athletics Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony for the 2021 class, which includes the 2014 CSU Pueblo Football Team who won the Division II National Championship, is hosted in the OSC Ballroom at 6:00 p.m. Tickets are required for this event.

CSU Pueblo Men’s Soccer faces Mines at the Art and Lorraine Gonzales Soccer/Lacrosse Stadium at 7:00 p.m.

CSU Pueblo Volleyball faces Westminster in Massari Arena at 7:00 p.m.

The annual Homecoming pep rally and bonfires takes place on the north end of the CSU Pueblo ThunderBowl Stadium at 8:00 p.m.

Saturday, Oct. 23

The 8th annual Engineering alumni open house and breakfast is hosted in the Technology Building on the first floor at 9:30 a.m.

The Student Recreations students, staff, alumni and family event with continental breakfast, giveaways and auction is hosting in the ThunderWolf Recreation Center at 10:00 a.m.

The CSU Pueblo Athletics Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony for the class of 2020, which includes the 2001 CSU Pueblo Softball team, five student-athletes, a former student-athlete, a coach and a special contributor, is hosted in the OSC ballroom at 10:00 a.m. Tickets are required for this event.

The CSU Pueblo Baseball alumni game takes place at the Rawlings Baseball Field at 10:30 a.m.

The CSU Pueblo ThunderWolves Marching Band and Music alumni event takes place at noon.

The CSU Pueblo student and family tailgate is hosted at the ThunderBowl parking lot at the Wolf Den blow up arch from noon until 2:00 p.m.

The CSU Pueblo Alumni Association/Community tailgate is hosted on the rooftop deck of the CSU Pueblo ThunderBowl at noon. Tickets are $10 per person and can be purchases at the entrance.

CSU Pueblo Football faces Adams State at the CSU Pueblo ThunderBowl at 2:00 p.m. Tickets are required for this event.

CSU Pueblo Volleyball hosts Colorado Mesa in Massari Arena at 7:00 p.m.

Sunday, Oct. 24

The Alumni/Family Brunch event is hosted in the OSC Ballroom foyer at 10:00 a.m. Tickets are required for this event.

CSU Pueblo Women’s Soccer hosts New Mexico Highlands at the Art and Lorraine Gonzales Soccer/Lacrosse Stadium at noon.

CSU Pueblo Men’s Soccer faces Colorado Christian at the Art and Lorraine Gonzales Stadium at 3:00 p.m.
