CSU-Pueblo School of Nursing hosts 5k in partnership with the NAMI on June 25
PUEBLO - The School of Nursing at Colorado State University–Pueblo will host a community 5k in partnership with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) on Sunday, June 25 to spread awareness of suicide and suicide prevention within the Pueblo community. The “Run for Life 5K” seeks to target and combat the high suicide rate amongst teens and youth within the Pueblo community by raising awareness, and with the funds raised, implementing ideas that will diminish the occurrences.
The race will kick off at the Neta & Eddie DeRose ThunderBowl Stadium at 8 a.m. Participants can expect a hilly and mostly unshaded course; however, the majority of the path is paved, and water will be supplied at water stations dispersed along the track. Participants should note that running is not a requirement for the race, as it is a run/walk event. Runners will start at 8 a.m., with walkers to follow at 8:05 a.m.
Early registration is now open with a fee of $25 through June 14, which includes a t-shirt. From June 14-23, registration will be $30 with a $35 registration fee on race day. If registration is completed by June 14, a shirt in your requested size is guaranteed. For registration after June 14, shirt requests are on a first come, first served basis.
The link for registration, which includes parking information and directions to CSU-Pueblo, is live and can be accessed at https://secure.getmeregistered.com/get_information.php?event_id=127261
