Colorado State University – Pueblo receives $35,000 for Boundless Opportunity

PUEBLO - The Colorado State University-Pueblo Foundation has received a $35,000 scholarship grant from the Daniels Foundation - Boundless Opportunity Scholarship (BOS).  The Boundless Opportunity Scholarship grant will be spread over two years and will benefit those motivated junior and senior non-traditional students who recognize the power of education to create a better life for themselves and their families.

Candidates for the Boundless Opportunity Scholarship will apply through the CSU-Pueblo Foundation Scholarship Application and will be evaluated based on the following criteria for selection:

  • Adult learner (25 years of age or older)
  • Display financial need defined by University and federal standards
  • Classification as a junior or senior
  • 3.25 grade point average (current cumulative or transferred GPA)
  • Involvement in community/campus affairs

Upon review of the required essay, candidates are reviewed by a specially-designated selection committee. Recipients of the BOS must maintain a 3.25 GPA to receive additional monies for the subsequent semester. The scholarships may only be used for tuition and fees, room and board, books and supplies, and transportation expenses (limited to gas or public transportation).

The Daniels Fund, established by cable television pioneer Bill Daniels, is a private charitable foundation dedicated to making life better for the people of Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming through its grants program, scholarship program, and ethics initiative. The name “Boundless Opportunity Scholarship” was inspired by a quote from Bill Daniels: “America remains the greatest nation on Earth, where boundless opportunities still exist for each and every one of us.”
