CSU Pueblo presents Dan+Shay

Press Release

PUEBLO – Country Music Recording Artists Dan + Shay will bring their Obsessed Tour to Pueblo as the Spring Concert for Colorado State University-Pueblo on Thursday, April 27 at the Colorado State Fair Southwest Motors Events Center. Doors will open at 6 p.m. with the concert to follow at 7 p.m.

Because the concert is funded primarily through Student Fees, the first 500 CSU-Pueblo students will receive one free ticket and can purchase additional tickets for $10 each by visiting the Library and Academic Resources Center 267. Tickets for the general public are $25 each. Tickets may be purchased by visiting www.altitudetickets.com.

The duo – Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney – have literally been obsessing over the song selection for their aptly titled sophomore album Obsessed. After finishing their debut album, Where It All Began, Dan + Shay never stopped writing songs and by the time they seriously thought about their second album, they had a Dropbox with more than 80 songs they had already demoed.

Obsessed, featuring their second consecutive Gold-certified chart-topping single, “From The Ground Up,” and newest single “Nothin’ Like You,” follows their 2014 debut Where It All Began, which made them the first new country duo in SoundScan-recorded history to debut at No. 1 on Billboard’s Country Albums Chart. The album included the debut single, “19 You + Me” which earned RIAA Platinum certification, and their first No. 1 single, “Nothin’ Like You,” which earned RIAA Gold certification.

Racking up more than 48 million YouTube views, the pair has impressively sold more than two million digital tracks and more than 500,000 album equivalents to date, including 200 million streams. They just collected their third consecutive nomination for CMA’s Vocal Duo of the Year award and have previously earned three nominations for ACM Vocal Duo of the Year as well as nods for American Country Countdown Awards, CMT Awards, and Radio Disney Music Awards.
