CSU-Pueblo Hasan School of Business to offer online MBA
Release Date: December 08, 2016
Press Release
PUEBLO -- The Hasan School of Business (HSB) at Colorado State University-Pueblo has announced that beginning in February, 2017, students will be able to earn a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in one year through a new online program administered through the University’s Office of Extended Studies.
According to HSB MBA Director Dr. Kristyn White, the new online MBA will be one of the least expensive MBA programs in the nation and one of only a few online MBAs accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) in Colorado. The program will provide a degree program taught by HSB faculty for significantly less than the average total cost for an MBA degree.
Courses will be offered in a seven-week format, which can be taken two at a time in order to complete all courses in one year. Students who choose to take one class at a time could finish the degree in two years. Thus, students who begin in February and take two courses at a time could complete the MBA coursework by December of 2017. Students could begin taking the courses in later months as well – the timeline for completion would change.
White said the online degree option will be especially attractive to out-of-state and international students, who can achieve an AACSB-accredited MBA degree without having to incur the expense of moving to and living in Colorado.
CSU Pueblo continues to add online academic opportunities that serve the needs of our students who deserve a variety of modalities as they pursue their professional goals,” said President Lesley Di Mare. “The online MBA follows a successful online launch of our construction management degree, which is making a significant difference to the management needs of that industry.
Interested students must have a bachelor’s degree in any major and take the GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test). Admission into the online MBA program will be based on an indexed score calculated from the undergraduate grade point average and GMAT score. Leveling coursework may be required depending on a student’s transcript and must be completed before taking additional courses. Two online courses may be taken before completion of the GMAT.
White said the program will have rolling enrollment, meaning flexible start dates that are convenient for a student’s schedule as well as ambition. On-campus students may supplement their loads with the online courses as well.
Interested individuals should contact White at 719.549.2155 or kristyn.white@csupueblo.edu in order to determine the need for leveling coursework as well as registration requirements.
