CSU-Pueblo sponsors bus, tailgate at football season opener

PUEBLO - The Colorado State University-Pueblo ThunderWolves football team opens the season on ESPN3 and the WatchESPN app when the Pack travel to Marv Kay Stadium in Golden, Colorado for a 7 p.m. meeting with Colorado School of Mines on Thursday, Sept. 1. Both the ThunderWolves and Orediggers have been ranked nationally in preseason polls so this game will be an important one in the Pack's race for their sixth straight Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference championship. The CSU-Pueblo Alumni Association and Friends of Football are hoping to encourage fans to travel to Golden to cheer on the ThunderWolves.
A Friends of Football (FOF) fan bus will leave from the Neta and Eddie DeRose ThunderBowl at 3 p.m. Cost for the round-trip ride is $50 and includes transportation (including refreshments, snacks and prize drawings), tailgate reservations, and a ticket to the game. Once at the game, alumni, boosters, players' parents, and all Friends of Football are invited to a free tailgate hosted by Mark and Lanette DeRose from 5-6:45 p.m. RSVPs are required through the CSU-Pueblo Alumni Association by Thursday, August 25 to tracy.samora@csupueblo.edu or call 719-549-2858. For those not on the fan bus, game day tickets can be purchased through the Orediggers website, www.minesathletics.com, beginning Aug. 22.
