PUEBLO - Colorado State University-Pueblo will host its annual Spring Career Fair from 11 a.m.-3 p.m.., on Wednesday, March 2 in the Occhiato University Student Center followed by an Employer to Student Networking Mixer sponsored by the Alumni Association immediately following in the OUC Hearthwell Lounge. More than 70 local, regional, state, and national employers already are scheduled, but additional employers seeking to hire new college graduates are welcome to participate.

"Candidates seeking full-time employment should be professionally dressed and bring plenty of copies of their updated resumes," said Career Center Director Michelle Gjerde.

"The Career Fair will be of special interest to all CSU-Pueblo students-not just seniors," she said. "Alumni and seniors can talk to recruiters about full-time professional opportunities, while juniors and sophomores can use this opportunity to find out about internships and summer employment. First-year and sophomore students can explore future career opportunities in their majors."

Some of the employers that will be showcasing their organizations are Airgas, Bechtel National Inc., Chartwells, City of Pueblo, Colorado State Patrol, Convergys, Enterprise, Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas, Garney Construction, Historic Arkansas Riverwalk of Pueblo, Parkview Medical Center, Pueblo City Schools, Pueblo Community Health Center, Loaf n Jug, Mutual of Omaha, Nunn Construction, Spanish Peaks Regional Health Center, St. Mary Corwin Medical Center/Centura Health, Trane, United Technologies Corporation Aerospace Systems, U.S. Department of Justice, U.S. Fish and Wildlife, U.S. Marine Corps., USAA, Wells Fargo.

"Job seekers need to be ready to face the job market possessing focus, confidence, and excellent communication and technical skills, competition is very high, only the best will rise to the top," advises Gjerde.

The mixer will be held from 3:30-5:30 p.m. on March 2 in the Occhiato University Center Hearthwell Lounge and gives students the opportunity to speak with business leaders from our community, many of whom are successful CSU-Pueblo alumni.

Because the benefits of networking are essential in any career path, students should understand that participation in the event could lead to internship opportunities as well as possible employment. Business dress is encouraged. Current students, alumni, employees of the University, and members of the Pueblo community are welcome to attend this free event.
