77th Annual International Extravaganza

PUEBLO - The 77th Annual International Food and Cultural Extravaganza, organized by the CSU-Pueblo International Students Association (CISA), will highlight Sports Around the World on Thursday, April 9 in the Occhiato University Center Ballroom.

The event is free to the public, however, donation of a potluck dish for sharing with others is requested, particularly something native to your country or heritage. A $1 donation per student/family also is encouraged to help defray costs. A red carpet will open at 4:30 p.m. followed by the program at 5:30 p.m. emceed by Mass Communications majors M. Talha Qureshi, Karachi, Pakistan, and Sarah Zarr, Pueblo. Harshita Ojha, a Master of Business Administration student from India, will host the fashion show component of the event.

This year's extravaganza theme is "Sports Around the World." In addition to international cuisine, the event will include international sports fair, fashion show, talent show, and recognition of the "International Supporter of the Year." Seven families from the Pueblo community have been nominated for the award, based upon their contributions and support to the international students at CSU-Pueblo during the 2014-2015 year.

Accomplishments of international students during the 2014-2015 academic year will be recognized, including those who participated in one of CSU-Pueblo's 22 intercollegiate athletic teams.

This semester, CSU-Pueblo is home to 150 international students, representing 34 countries including large contingencies from China, South Korea, Brazil and Germany.
