CSU-Pueblo veterans sponsor fundraiser for Honor Flight

PUEBLO -The Student Veterans of America (SVA) Chapter at Colorado State University-Pueblo will co-host a fundraising event Saturday, Feb. 7 to benefit Honor Flight of Southern Colorado, a non-profit organization which provides complimentary trips to veterans to view military memorials and monuments in a variety of locations from Washington D.C. to Normandy.

The American Legion Post 203, a local non-profit veteran's organization, in partnership with CSU-Pueblo's SVA will sponsor a gala beginning at 6 p.m. on February 7 in the Occhiato University Center Ballroom benefiting a non-profit organization known as Honor Flight of Southern Colorado. Colorado Senator Leroy Garcia will serve as master of ceremonies with entertainment by Revelle 3, an Andrews Sisters tribute band, as well as comedian Jeff Valdez.

Honor Flight of Southern Colorado transports military heroes to Washington, D.C. to visit their war memorial, with a focus on World War II veterans and those veterans from any war who have a terminal illness. The group also pays tribute to veterans of the Korea and Vietnam Wars, followed by veterans of more current wars.
