"KSPK-TV is proud to be able to partner with a University like CSU-Pueblo and help promote the school & Athletic Department while bringing their product to as wide of an audience as possible,” said Paul Richards, KSPK General Manager.

According to Eric Danner, associate commissioner of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC), the RMAC televised games with Altitude (12 altogether) in 2008 and 2009, but it is “very unusual for a Div. II school to have this many games on a regional sports network.”

“Obviously, we are very excited about this partnership,” said CSU-Pueblo Director of Athletics Joe Folda. “The airing of Pack football games on Altitude during the 2014 season is a tremendous opportunity to be able to showcase the football and athletics program along with the University and the Community of Pueblo to many households across the western United States.”

Bryant Johnson will be the man behind the microphone doing play-by-play for the games and coordinating an extensive marketing package tied to the deal, which includes a new episode each month throughout the school year of Walk with the Wolves, a half hour program that offers behind the scenes features on CSU-Pueblo coaches, athletes, and campus initiatives.

Walk with the Wolves will celebrate its one year anniversary with episode 12 in January. Eight Walk with the Wolves episodes have aired on Altitude in Fall of 2013.  Walk with the Wolves provides an all-access view of the inside workings of the nationally-recognized NCAA athletics program at CSU-Pueblo, which now features 22 sports for men and women.

“Our cameras have complete access to players, coaches, administration and boosters in an unscripted format that details exactly what happens behind-the-scenes in a no-holds barred fashion,” Johnson said. Full episodes also are available on the web at www.GoThunderWolves.com/WalkWithTheWolves.

CSU-Pueblo also will be the halftime sponsor of the broadcast games, allowing the University to promote a variety of campus initiatives through halftime features and interviews.

"We have lofty ambitions and understand what television can accomplish when paired with an organized and innovative University,” Johnson said. “In less than a year, we’ve launched a 30 minute TV show that airs 15 times per month on Altitude Sports while reaching an agreement with CSU-Pueblo to broadcast four ThunderWolf Football games live on Altitude!  This is the most comprehensive television arrangement in all of Division 2 Athletics and is a true triumph for CSU-Pueblo & KSPK TV!"

The Altitude network reaches 6.5 million households nationwide, primarily in the Rocky Mountain region, but viewers also get Altitude on Dish or Direct if they subscribe to the sports packages, which increases both the audience numbers and the breadth of the coverage.
