CSU-Pueblo Professors to Release Economic Impact Study of Amtrak's Southwest Chief Rail Service
Creating positive “ripple effect” on the Colorado economy

​(Pueblo) - Colorado State University-Pueblo Professor of Economics Kevin Duncan, Ph.D., and Professor of Management Michael Wakefield, Ph.D., will release an economic impact study on Thursday, February 6 detailing the impact of the Amtrak Southwest Chief’s rail service on the Colorado economy.  The study includes evaluation of the current impact of the Southwest Chief service as well as assessment of the impact of an additional stop in Pueblo, Colorado.  The study also focuses on the associated economic impact if the rail needed to repair the line is produced by Evraz Pueblo.
