Students studying Italian language and culture

Italian Studies Minor

In today’s interconnected world, the ability to communicate across cultures and understand global perspectives is more valuable than ever. The Italian Studies minor at Colorado State University Pueblo offers students the opportunity to develop these skills while engaging with one of the world’s most influential languages and cultures.

This flexible 18-credit program introduces students to the Italian language, history, and cultural traditions that have shaped global developments from antiquity to the present. From the legacy of ancient Rome to the artistic achievements of the Renaissance and the innovations of modern Italy, students gain insight into a civilization that continues to influence contemporary society in areas such as art, design, film, cuisine, business, and technology.

Open to students from any major, the minor allows for an individualized course of study that connects language learning with broader cultural exploration.

Students may also enhance their academic experience through study abroad opportunities in Italy, supported by scholarships from CSU Pueblo’s Italian Endowment and exchange partnerships with the University of Torino and the University of Bergamo.
