Upward Bound

Upward Bound provides high school students a "strong finish" to their high school career, and prepares them with skills to take on the next phase of their life - college.

We assist students with their college admission process, college selection, and with tools necessary to succeed in higher education. 

Why Apply?

Students in Upward Bound are four times more likely to earn an undergraduate degree than those students from similar backgrounds who did not participate in Upward Bound!

  • ACT and college preparation
  • Financial aid advising
  • Leadership development and service projects for college applications
  • Summer Bridge Program
  • Senior Leadership Academi
  • Pre-College Academy
  • Tutoring: Available in Foreign Languages, Mathematics, Science, Literature, and Composition.

It's for you if:

  • Neither of your parents hold a college degree; and
  • You are a low-income student as defined by the federal low income levels; and
  • You have a minimum GPA of 2.5 in core classes; and
  • You are between the ages of 13 and 19; and
  • You are a student in one of the following high schools
    • Centennial High School
    • Central High School
    • East High School
    • Pueblo County High School
