Veterans Upward Bound
Veterans Upward Bound is a free U.S. Department of Education program designed to help Veterans refresh their academic skills and increase confidence to successfully complete their choice of college degree(s).
Our program is entirely free and helps provide books and all classroom materials students may need.
Services
- Basic skills development to help veterans successfully complete a high school equivalency program and gain admission to college education programs
- Short-term remedial or refresher classes for high school graduates that have put off pursuing a college education
- Assistance with applications to the college or university of choice (does not have to be CSU-Pueblo)
- Assistance with applying for financial aid
- Personalized counseling
- Academic advice and assistance
- Career counseling
- Assistance with VA benefits applications and community assistance organizations
- Exposure to cultural events, academic programs, and other educational activities not usually inclusive to the Veteran community
- Employment referrals
It's for you if:
- You are a veteran that has not been dishonorably discharged; and
- You served more than 180 days in Active Duty, with at least a portion after 1955; and
- You are a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident; and
- You are a first-generation and/or low-income student
