CSU Pueblo names Dr. Lucie Menjivar as Interim Dean of Students as of January 16th, 2024. Dr. Lucie Menjivar will serve as the Interim Dean of Students while simultaneously continuing her current role as Assistant Dean of Student Engagement/Events and Leadership.

The primary focus of the Interim Dean of Students role is to improve support for students, ensuring more effective assistance, reducing risks and liabilities to CSU Pueblo through the implementation of suitable structural layers aligned with responsibilities, and providing support for anticipated transitions within the university pillars.

“Dr. Menjivar’s profound expertise in student engagement promises to enhance student support,” said Dr. Humphrey. “Her responsibilities will include the development of high impact practices and collaborative work with our faculty and staff to create initiatives for student success.”

Dr. Menjivar will play a crucial role in various processes such as collaborating with faculty and staff on student success initiatives, and contributing to the development of data narratives for student affairs. Her responsibilities also involve conducting assessments across a diverse range of areas within student affairs to distinguish the Director of Student (DOS) role from that of the Vice President for Student Affairs (VPSA). Furthermore, Dr. Menjivar will be actively involved in formulating procedures within specific areas of responsibility.

"I am eager to serve as interim Dean of Students, and I am committed to fostering academic excellence, student welfare, development, and inclusivity,” said Dr. Menjivar. “This expanded role will allow Student Affairs to broaden our connections and services to further serve our students."

In a recent development, Dr. Menjivar has been chosen as the representative of CSU Pueblo, exemplifying the university's commitment to leadership excellence. Her latest accomplishment includes her selection to represent CSU Pueblo at the prestigious 2023-2024 HERS Leadership Institute held in December. As she assumes her new role, Dr. Menjivar is poised to integrate her diverse areas of expertise into the daily operations, further contributing to the university's continued success.
