Announcing the 2022 Wolfpack Solo High School Solo Competition!

The Wolfpack High School Solo Music Competition returns in 2022! Contest registration opens November 1st with a video submission deadline of January 1, 2022. Four woodwind/brass/percussion division finalists and two piano division finalists selected from the video submissions will be invited to the final live competition at the 14th Annual CSU Pueblo Festival of Winds, February 10-12, 2022.

Why Participate?

  • Students who register can schedule a free virtual or in-person coaching session with CSU Pueblo applied faculty before they submit their videos.
  • Students will receive written feedback on their video entries.
  • Cash prizes will be awarded for places 1-4 in the woodwind/brass/percussion division and 1-2 in the piano division. Honorable mentions and certificates of participation will also be awarded.

Who is eligible?

  • All high school students in grades 9-12 performing a woodwind, brass, percussion, or piano solo.

Finalists must be available to perform their solo live at CSU Pueblo's Festival of Winds, February 10-12, 2022.

Contestants are encouraged, though not required, to participate in the 2022 Festival of Winds.

How to apply

  • Complete and return the "Contestant Information Form" with a $15.00 entry fee.
  • Make a video recording of yourself performing a solo piece appropriate for your instrument. There should be no accompaniment for the video recording.
  • Solo should not exceed 9 minutes.

All details and submission forms will be available on November 1, 2021, for the 2022 competition.
