Hours: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday-FridayThe Colorado Civil Rights Division administers and enforces Colorado’s civil rights laws in employment, housing and public accommodations. The Colorado Revised Statutes (1988) prohibit discrimination in employment, housing and public accommodations based on race, sex, national origin, ancestry, disability, creed, color, marital status (housing and public accommodations), and familial status (housing only). Discrimination in employment based on age or marriage to a co-worker also is prohibited. The CCRD implements the civil rights statutes through administrative enforcement (compliance) and outreach (research and education). Training programs are available in all aspects of civil rights, sexual harassment, preventive and ethnic and disability sensitivity. Publications are available in Spanish and English regarding current civil rights laws. Fee: Most services are free. There is a $5 fee for copies of laws, rules and regulations. Call for more information regarding fees for staff training.

CLIP, a program of The Center, offers legal advocacy and referrals for the GLBT community, and those living with HIV. The Center also provides support groups, health & wellness (including Hepatitis vaccinations); HIV/AIDS prevention, lesbian cancer support services, mental health treatment (on a sliding scale), medical referral services, social activities, free medical clinic, emergency referrals and social and support activities. Youth services include a resource center.

It provides advice and technical assistance to attorneys representing plaintiffs in federal litigation under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Equal Pay Act, Title I of the Americans With Disabilities Act and sections of the Civil Rights Act of 1991.
