First-Year International Students
Who Should Use This Section?
First-year applicants are degree-seeking students who have not attempted college-level coursework after high school graduation.
Academic Requirement
First-year students must have a minimum cumulative weighted 2.3 high school GPA on a 4.0 U.S. GPA scale.
Checklist Items
- Submit a completed application and select the “Undergraduate First-Year” option for the desired beginning term.
- Pay the $30 USD undergraduate admissions fee.
- Upload a copy of an unexpired passport on your application status page. A passport is also required for any spouse or dependent child traveling with you.
- Email a copy of your IELTS, TOEFL, or Duolingo English Test scorecard to info@csupueblo.edu, unless you meet an exemption.
- Upload documentation of financial support on your application status page.
- Request evaluation of high school transcripts through an approved credential evaluation service.
- If you are completing high school during the current academic year, submit a final high school transcript after admission.
Note: Passport and financial support documentation are not required for online students.
Transfer International Students
Who Should Use This Section?
Transfer applicants are degree-seeking students who have attempted college-level coursework after graduating high school or completing a GED program.
Academic Requirement
Transfer students must have a minimum 2.3 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 U.S. scale for all completed college coursework.
Checklist Items
- Submit a completed application and select the “Undergraduate Transfer” option for the desired beginning term.
- Pay the $30 USD undergraduate admissions fee.
- Upload a copy of an unexpired passport on your application status page. A passport is also required for any spouse or dependent child traveling with you.
- Email a copy of your IELTS, TOEFL, or Duolingo English Test scorecard to info@csupueblo.edu, unless you meet an exemption.

- If you have earned fewer than 30 credit hours at another college or university, submit your high school transcripts for evaluation as well.

Second Bachelor’s International Students
Who Should Use This Section?
Second bachelor’s applicants are degree-seeking students who have already earned a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
Academic Requirement
Second bachelor’s applicants must have a minimum 2.3 combined GPA on a 4.0 U.S. scale for all completed college coursework.

Graduate International Students
Who Should Use This Section?
Graduate applicants are degree-seeking students pursuing a master’s or doctoral degree. Applicants must have completed a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university by the time of program enrollment.
Academic Requirement
The minimum undergraduate GPA established for all graduate programs is 3.0 on a 4.0 U.S. scale. Some programs may have additional requirements.
Checklist Items
- Submit a completed application and select the “Graduate Degree/Certificate” option for the desired beginning term.
- Pay the $35 USD graduate admissions fee.
- Upload a copy of an unexpired passport on your application status page. A passport is also required for any spouse or dependent child traveling with you.
- Email a copy of your IELTS or TOEFL scorecard to info@csupueblo.edu, unless you meet an exemption.
- Upload documentation of financial support on your application status page.
- Request evaluation of college transcripts from all institutions of higher learning attended through an approved credential evaluation service.
- Upload any program-specific documents requested on your application checklist.
Note: Passport and financial support documentation are not required for online students.
Application Deadlines
CSU Pueblo accepts rolling applications past deadlines, but international students are encouraged to submit materials early to allow time for admission review, document processing, and visa planning.
- Fall Semester: June 1
- Spring Semester: November 1
- Summer Semester: March 1
English Proficiency
International students from non-exempt countries must demonstrate English proficiency. Score requirements vary by program.
- TOEFL, IELTS Academic, or Duolingo English Test may be accepted depending on student type and program.
- Nursing and MBA programs may require higher scores.
- Residents of Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom may be exempt.
Financial Support
A financial statement is required for students who need an F-1 or J-1 visa for in-person study. The statement must show resources available to meet or exceed the annual cost of attendance.
- Students may submit one or more acceptable financial support documents.
- Financial documentation must also account for any dependents who will need visa documentation.
- This requirement does not apply to online students.
Transcript Evaluation
Academic coursework completed outside the United States must be translated, certified, and authenticated through an approved credential evaluation agency.
- The evaluation must be completed within five years prior to the date of application.
- Evaluations should include U.S. equivalency, course-by-course analysis, GPA on a 4.0 scale, and credential details.
- Official transcripts and mark sheets may also be required from the sending institution.
Student Visa and I-20 Information
CSU Pueblo issues the Form I-20 after required admission documents are received and the student has been admitted.

CSU Pueblo issues a Form I-20 to admitted student applicants and any accompanying dependents after all required admission documents are received.

Students must complete the SEVIS Form I-901 and pay the SEVIS fee before the visa interview process.

Contact the nearest American Embassy Visa Section to arrange an interview. Bring the Form I-20, SEVIS payment proof, and required documents.
Study in the StatesArrival Requirement
Upon arrival to campus, students should visit the Office of the Registrar so CSU Pueblo can confirm arrival on campus.

Students who previously attended another U.S. college or university must provide a SEVIS Release Form from the prior institution so CSU Pueblo can issue a new I-20.
