Frequently Asked Questions

    Do you accept walk-ins?

Unlike a traditional "school nurse" office, Wolfpack Wellness Center is a fully-functioning healthcare office much like your primary care physician. While appointments are recommended, we do allow for walk-ins.

Do I need an appointment to be seen in your office?

Appointments are recommended and can be schedule by calling 719-549-2830 or through the ThunderWolf Health Portal.

Does the University offer health insurance for students?

Unfortunately, the University no longer offers health insurance for students. Due to the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), we have a list of websites that you can access to sign up for affordable healthcare. Please see on our insurance information page.

Does the University take medical insurance to cover visits or procedures?

Most visits and procedures are covered by the Student Health Fee for full-time students. Part-time or online students may need to pay additional costs. The WolfPack Wellness Center is currently working to establish the business practices needed to utilize medical insurance for cost that go beyond the student fee. The team hopes to have the process in place by the beginning of Spring 2024. You can upload your insurance cards now on your Thunderwolf Health Portal to expedite the process for spring.

Does the Wolfpack Wellness Center see staff or faculty members as patients?

while our mission is to serve the students, we can and do see staff and faculty as time allows. Unfortunately, we do not currently take insurance so it will be a 100% out-of-pocket cost for staff and faculty. We hope to have the ability to bill most medical insurance by Spring 2024.
