CSU Pueblo is proud to announce the completion of phase one of the renovations for the Technology, Education, and Engineering Building. A ribbon cutting ceremony is scheduled at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 10 and will feature brief remarks by campus leadership and representatives from HCM and Nunn Construction, who played pivotal roles in bringing this project to life.

"Today marks an extraordinary day for Colorado State University Pueblo as we open the doors to our newly renovated Technology, Education, and Engineering Building,” CSU Pueblo President Armando Valdez said. “This state-of-the-art facility embodies our unwavering commitment to academic excellence and innovation. By providing our students with cutting-edge resources and opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration, we are not only shaping the future of education but also empowering the next generation of leaders, thinkers, and creators. This building stands as a testament to our shared vision of a brighter tomorrow and our dedication to the success of our students and community."

Thanks to the visionary support of Governor Jared Polis and the enactment of State Bill 21-205, $17.1 million was allocated in 2021 for the first phase of the Technology Building renovation. This transformative project ensures all students can access cutting-edge instructional spaces, fostering experiential learning opportunities across disciplines, particularly in STEM and Education. The second phase has received  $14.3 million in state funded support to complete the renovation of the north wing.

"The grand opening of the Technology, Education, and Engineering Building represents the successful culmination of years of hard work, collaboration, and dedication from our entire team,” Vice President of Operations and Advancement, Dr. Donna Souder Hodge said. “Working closely with our design-build partners, Nunn Construction and HCM, CSU Pueblo has created a space that will serve as a hub for innovation, research, and education. This building is a reflection of our commitment to providing our students with the best possible environment to learn, grow, and thrive. I am immensely proud of what we have achieved together, and I am excited to see how this transformative facility will impact our university and community for years to come."

Originally constructed in 1979, this upgrade represents a significant step forward, modernizing facilities while aligning with Vision 2028’s strategic goal of strengthening partnerships with industry, community colleges, and K-12 schools.
