The CSU Pueblo Department of Music is proud to present, “Destination unKnown,” an evening of musical theatre in collaboration with the Department of Media and Entertainment on March 10th and March 11th at the Buell Communications Center Blackbox Studio. The cabaret features students from across campus, as well as staff and community members.

Under the direction of Dr. Jennifer Bruton, Director of Choral Activities, with the help of Dorilia Ortega, choreographer, the cast has rehearsed music and dances.

“We know how much our community enjoys musical productions, and our students have been asking for this kind of an opportunity for quite a while,” Dr. Bruton said. “Theatrical productions are quite involved, but they provide the perfect outlet for collaboration. Audiences often think about the performers and superstars they love, but without all of those who work behind the scenes, this could never happen,” she said. “Our students are learning from incredible faculty members how to put on a production like this. We handle everything from performing to publicity. On the technical side, our professors in Media and Entertainment, Dr. Jon Pluskota and Clifton Hyde, bring years of experience with sound engineering and performing on Broadway to the sound and lighting that their students will run during the show.”

The collaboration with the Department of Media and Entertainment provides an opportunity for hands on learning by students who are studying sound, lighting, camera work and other aspects of live production.

Performances are at 7 p.m. on March 10 and March 11, and a matinee performance at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 12. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children 12 and under, $5 for high school and college students with a valid student ID. For ticket information, contact Chad Beery at 719-549-2809 or purchase in-person at the Music Department office located on the first floor of the Art and Music building.
