Dr. Reynolds-Stenson Announced as the Speaker for the Second “Meet the Research” Lecture Series

PUEBLO – Assistant Professor of Sociology and Criminology Dr. Heidi Reynolds-Stenson is the featured speaker for the “Meet the Research” lecture series at the Library and Academic Resource Center Auditorium at 6 p.m. on Tuesday.
Dr. Reynolds-Stenson published her first book, “Cultures of Resistance: Collective Action and Rationaly in the Anti-Terror Age,” (Rutgers University Press, 2022) earlier this year. The text examines social movements, collective group thinking and highlights experiences of repression and resistance. According to the publisher, “the book uncovers key group processes that shape how individuals understand, experience, and weigh these risks of participating in collective action.”
Her research focuses on social movements, repression, and policing. Her academic work has appeared in multiple publications, including several articles focusing on social movements, policing, protest and online censorship and repression.
Following the lecture, Dr. Reynolds-Stenson will sign copies of her book. The first 10 students to attend receive a free copy. Refreshments will be provided. “Meet the Research '' is organized by the Sociology/Criminology Club and co-sponsored by the University Library and the Sociology, Criminology, and Anthropology Department.
