Colorado State University-Pueblo will host the 10th annual Piano Monster Concert on Saturday, November 2, at 7 p.m. This is an event that is part of the CSU-Pueblo Music Department’s Pueblo Keyboard Arts Festival, which takes place October 31 through November 2.

The Pueblo Keyboard Arts Festival will also include activities such as masterclasses for CSU-Pueblo students, and high school and middle school students. Other opportunities for students include a CSU-Pueblo Piano Studio Recital on October 31 at 6 p.m. and a Young Artist Competition on November 2 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.  These performances will be held in Hoag Hall.

This year the Pueblo Keyboard Arts Music Festival will be featuring guest artist, Dr. Joachim Reinhuber who is excited to return to the festival in Pueblo, and director, Dr. Zahari Metchkov, associate professor of music at CSU-Pueblo. Alongside them, other musicians will take part consisting of faculty, current students and alumni.

The mission of the festival is to celebrate piano music and generations of pianists such as young students and their private teachers.  This is a joined celebration with CSU-Pueblo students, faculty, alumni and colleagues. The Piano Monster concert programming engages everyone from those who absolutely love music, to a beginner music student. This event will bring friends, colleagues, and families together as the stage is shared with pianists of all ages.

On November 2, there will be a pre-concert reception at 6 p.m. which is free to all CSU-Pueblo alumni and $10 for other guests.  The “Monster” Piano Concert is free for anyone who would like to experience this unique musical event.  Donations are welcomed to support the Pueblo Keyboard Arts Festival.
