Colorado State University-Pueblo nursing students co-sponsor community baby shower
PUEBLO –The Pueblo Early Childhood Council and the Colorado State University–Pueblo Nursing Department invites new and expectant mothers to attend the 8th annual Community Baby Shower on Tuesday, June 5. This annual event provides an excellent opportunity for mothers and families to obtain necessary knowledge to raise children in a safe and nurturing environment. This event is free of charge and will be held from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Praise Assembly of God Church in Pueblo, 2000 Troy Avenue, 81001.
The community baby shower welcomes pregnant women and parents of children up to five years of age, offering important information about the health, growth, and development of children. Various agencies based out of Pueblo will be operating at their designated booths to provide families resources including services and tools they can utilize to give their children an optimal childhood experience. Some of the teaching topics will include information on women, infant and children opportunities, car seat safety, vaccinations, preventing SIDS, and nutrition.
The Nursing Department is accepting donations, gift cards, and items that are appropriate for children ages 0-5 years and pregnant mothers. The donations will be used as door prizes and giveaways during the event. Giveaways will include 25 Pack ‘n Plays and 25 Sleep Sacks. Donations may be delivered to the CSU-Pueblo campus, outside of Technology 221.
