Colorado State University–Pueblo hosts first Southern Colorado Veteran’s Career Fair
PUEBLO – Colorado State University-Pueblo will host 16+ local, regional, state, and national employers that are specifically hiring veterans at the first Colorado State University-Pueblo Veteran’s Career Fair from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, April 24 in the Occhiato Student Center.
Dana Rocha, director of CSU-Pueblo Veteran’s Success Center partnered with the Career Center, Pikes Peak and Pueblo Workforce Centers on the event. This is the first such Veteran’s Career Fair held in Southern Colorado.
“The CSU-Pueblo Veteran’s Career Fair will be of special interest to all CSU-Pueblo student veterans as well as veterans from around the southern part of our state,” said Michelle B. Gjerde, director of the CSU-Pueblo Career Center. “All veteran students and their families and the community are welcome to attend. Job seekers need to be ready to introduce themselves to recruiters with focus, confidence, and excellent communication and technical skills.”
Gjerde said candidates seeking full-time employment should be professionally dressed and bring plenty of copies of their updated resumes.
Among the employers showcasing their organizations are: Aflac, Armour Correctional Health Services, City of Pueblo, CoreCivic Crowley County Correctional Facility, Dignity Memorial, Edward Jones, Fastenal, GH Phipps, Pueblo Chemical Depot, Pueblo City Schools, Pueblo Community Health Center, USAA, U.S. Fish & Wildlife, Vestas, and Wells Fargo.
