Colorado State University–Pueblo to celebrate Asian Pacific Islander History Month
PUEBLO, CO - Colorado State University-Pueblo’s Office of Diversity and Inclusion (ODI) will celebrate Asian Pacific Islander History Month with three events in April. The month begins with the Asian Pacific Islander History Month Kickoff, and includes a Movie Night and Discussion and the Annual Senior Multicultural Congratulatory event. All events are free to students and are sponsored by the ODI.
The celebration begins at noon on Tuesday, April 3, in the Occhiato Student Center (OSC) 108 at the kickoff event, during which students can decorate their school bags with unique and colorful charms.
Moana (2016) will be shown at a Movie Night and Discussion at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, April 11 in OSC 108. Moana tells the story of the strong-willed daughter of a chief of a Polynesian village, who is chosen by the ocean to reunite a mystical relic with the goddess Te Fiti.
The 3rd annual Senior Multicultural Congratulatory honors the accomplishments of students graduating in December 2017 or May 2018. The event is free to students’ family and friends, and will occur at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 24, in the OSC Ballroom. Students are eligible to receive the general award for attending the ceremony and apply for special awards that are offered. In order to sign up for the event and apply for the awards, students must sign up in Packlink under the ODI and fill out an application by April 10, 2018.
