CSU–Pueblo hosts employers this week at annual Career Fair

PUEBLO – Colorado State University-Pueblo will host more than 70 local, regional, state, and national employers expected to offer employment to new college graduates at the annual Spring Career Fair from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, March 1 in the Student Recreation Center. 

“The Career Fair will be of special interest to all CSU-Pueblo students-not just seniors,” said Michelle B. Gjerde, director of the CSU-Pueblo Career Center.  “Alumni and seniors can talk to recruiters about full-time professional opportunities.  Juniors and sophomores can use this opportunity to find out about internships and summer employment.  First-year and sophomore students can explore future career opportunities in their majors,” said Gjerde.

“Job seekers need to be ready to face this tough job market possessing focus, confidence, and excellent communication and technical skills as competition is high and only the best will rise to the top,” she said.  “Candidates seeking full-time employment should be professionally dressed and bring plenty of copies of their updated resumes.”

Among the employers showcasing their organizations are:  Abraxas Youth and Family Services, Airgas,  City of Pueblo, City of Pueblo Wastewater, Colorado Lions Camp, Colorado Springs Police Department, Colorado Springs Utilities, Colorado State Patrol, El Pueblo Boys and Girls Ranch, Enterprise, Farmers Insurance, Fastenal, Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, GEICO,  Northwestern Mutual Financial Network, Parkview Medical Center, Phil Long Dealerships, Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office, Spanish Peaks Regional Health Center, St. Mary Corwin Medical Center, T. Rowe Price, U.S. Marine Corps., U.S. Department of Fish and Wildlife, United Rentals, Inc.
