Press Release

PUEBLO - Colorado State University-Pueblo will celebrate the start of a new partnership with the Pueblo City-County Library District (PCCLD) on Oct. 20 that will establish the Library @ the U location on the first floor lobby of the Library and Academic Resources Center (LARC) along with a host of new services to campus users.

As part of the agreement with the University, PCCLD will provide a variety of adult fiction and non-fiction books and DVDs that will rotate on a monthly basis and will be available for checkout at the LARC. PCCLD books placed on hold from other PCCLD locations or online may now be delivered and picked up at the University Library. The campus community also will have access to PCCLD online services, including Cloud and Hoopla, a streaming video and audio application/software. Along with Cloud Library and Hoopla, the library also offers Freading and Freegal as digital resources.

The only differences between Library @ the U and other PCCLD branches is that books onsite may not be placed on hold and PCCLD fines may not be paid at the LARC. All services will be available during regular LARC hours and special hours during exam weeks and holidays.

A brief program acknowledging the new partnership will begin at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 20, featuring PCCLD Board representatives and CSU-Pueblo President Lesley Di Mare. Throughout the day on Oct. 20, refreshments will be available, and existing PCCLD card holders can sign up for a drawing of gift cards to area bookstores along with two seats to the PCCLD All Pueblo Reads event on Oct. 22, featuring Water for Elephants author Sarah Gruen. CSU-Pueblo students and employees who sign up for a new PCCLD card will be entered into the drawings as well. The normal residency requirement for a PCCLD card will be waived for CSU-Pueblo students.

The Library @ the U becomes the ninth PCCLD location along with school satellites at Beulah School of Natural Sciences and Avondale Elementary.
